What is your soul doing today?

Does Your Soul Need A Hug?

Most Christians believe that persons on earth have souls.  I believe that.  But I also believe that souls occasionally become tired and need a rest and just need some "chillaxing".  And, sometimes they become sad and really need a hug or at least a rest and rejuvenation and perhaps a curing would good for the soul too.  Sometimes persons stray from their Christian beliefs and that might mean that a good soul cleaning and curing is really needed.  The christian community is usually a good place to go for that cleaning and curing of the soul.

Of course there are other ways that you can rejuvenate your good old soul.  A good laugh sometimes helps.  Giving to the needy might boost your good feelings of worth and then your soul will definitely start feeling a bit better.  But even after that your soul might feel half empty or half full depending if you are pessimist or an optimist and maybe something else is needed.  You sure don't want sell your soul for a big piece of chocolate cake but having a big piece might help you on your way to recovering from that "empty soul feeling".

Never it let it be said that soul recovery will be easy, because just like everything in life, there will be obstacles.  But as long as you don't meet a figure dressed in red, with horns,  and smells of burned flesh, has a great feeling of hot and goes by the name of "Devil", you should have a pretty easy time of doing a complete soul rejuvenation.

Recently I ran across of web site on which you can supposedly can store your soul for a while .... and can even trade souls with someone else.  Sound funky?  It probably is, but if your soul is in really bad shape, perhaps you should try storing it for a while and even trying on someone's "worn" but still in good shape soul.  Here's the web site in case you're interested:

If a visit to this site helps, let me know.  If you meet the devil along the way and you don't even go there for chillaxing,  but get relief from that jerk, don't bother letting me know.

Recipe
We go to New Orleans quite often and while there Cafe Au Lait or a Cafe Brulot is always necessary for me.  And, we all know that the New Orlean's resident Emeril Lagasse is the best person to find recipes.  A few years ago I discovered Emeril's recipe for a hot drink that is a Cafe Au Lait but is like a combination of a Cafe Au Lait, Hot Chocolate and Cafe Brulot all rolled into one.  It's got a lot of fat grams and calories but once in a while might not hurt....at least that's my motto.  Enjoy!

Christmas Cafe Au Lait-Brulot
1 1/2 cups whole milk
2/3 cup plus 1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened Dutch-process cocoa powder
2 ( 2-inch) cinnamon sticks
1 strip orange peel, about 1/2 inch by 3 inches
10 whole cloves
2 to 2 1/2 cups hot brewed strong coffee
1/4 cup cold whipping cream (or use fat free cool whip)
Ground cinnamon, for garnish
Cocoa, for garnish
In a medium saucepan, whisk together the milk, 2/3 cup of the sugar, and cocoa until smooth. Add the cinnamon sticks, orange peel and cloves and bring to a simmer, stirring, to dissolve the sugar and prevent the cocoa from sticking to the bottom of the pot. Simmer for 2 minutes, then remove from the heat, cover, and let steep for 10 minutes.

See My Note!  In a medium bowl, whip the cream with the remaining 1 teaspoon sugar until thick and frothy

Strain the milk mixture into a coffee pot or carafe and add 2 cups of the hot coffee (2 1/2 cups for stronger coffee flavor, to taste). Pour into cups or small mugs and top each with a dollop of the sweetened whipped cream (or fat free cool whip to reduce fat grams and calories). Serve immediately.

May your Christmas morning be more pleasant with this recipe.

Quote For The Day
A good listener is not only popular everywhere,
but after a while he gets to know something.
--Wilson Mizner

We all know that the environment has suffered during the past years with humans using  more and more harmful chemicals and engines which give off toxic fumes and soil damaging waste.  Urbanization and industry has hurt the environment.

Some people advocate getting rid of all engines and go back to horses.  They can't be serious!

First and foremost, there aren't enough horses around, so big horse farms would be needed.  That might help the growth of our town.  Then comes the people who have bad backs (me) who just couldn't ride a horse to Springfield to get my old age medicines.  Then you also have people who are afraid of riding a horse for one reason or another (me - because I used to ride and it made my hip hurt and my back plus I was once thrown off and broke my left arm and I don't want that to happen again).  Plus my arthritis would be so bad I wouldn't be able to walk at all.  And I would probably get shin splints and other ghastly things.

Then you have the people who just don't want to smell like a horse, because when you ride a horse, one always smells like a horse for some reason or another.

Then you have people who have to travel a great distance to get to work.  Can you imagine getting up 6 to 12 hours earlier than you used to when engines were polluting the air. A horse can travel about 25 to 30 miles per day so a trip to Springfield would take you all day....by the time you got there it would almost be tomorrow already and besides you would need a new horse to ride home because the one you came in on would be too tired to go home (and you also would probably be too tired).  Besides....... you wouldn't even have time to do any work at your business!

One of the biggest problems would be where would people put their horses at home.  Can you imagine those people who live in apartments having to tie up their horse at the apartment pool area...that way the horse could have drink any time they needed and the kids in the apartment complex would most likely take care of feeding the animals....might be unhealthy food but at least they would be fed.  Other people would just have to keep the horse behind their house and have a big pooper scooper to alleviate a pasture smell in the back yard.

All of these things are kind of sounding like using horses instead of engines might not be such a great idea.  I don't know the answer to alleviating the earth's environment problems but I know I'm keeping my non-energy saving and environmentally harmful engine!
